A ConnectsUs Consultation is a customized 1-hour interactive tutorial conducted by web conference.  Because you set the agenda and the consultation is for you alone, it's an ideal way to get all your questions answered and build a solid understanding of how to use our HR toolkits.

How and when can I purchase a Consultation?

You may purchase a 1-hour Consultation:

  • As an add on with the first purchase of any ConnectsUs subscription
  • At any time, as a customer with an active subscription 
  • In unlimited quantities. For example, if you'd like to purchase a 2-hour consultation, simply increase the quantity in your shopping cart during check out.

What do I need?

All you need is:

  • a PC or MAC computer
  • a monitor
  • an internet connection
  • a telephone or Skype connection

How does it work? What can I expect?

Once your ConnectsUs Consultation order is processed:

Scheduling

  • We recommend you spend some time in the Resource Center prior to scheduling your consultation.
  • Consultations must be scheduled within 1 month of purchase.
  • We kindly ask that you Contact us by email no less than 5 business days before your preferred consultation date.  We will make every effort to accommodate your preferred date and time.
  • When contacting us to schedule your consultation, please provide details about the items you would like to discuss
  • You will receive a confirmation email once the date and time of the consultation has been scheduled.
  • A consultation may be rescheduled up to 24 hours prior to the scheduled time.  If the cancelation notice is less than 24 hours, the consultation will not be rescheduled. 
  • Consultations cannot be canceled and cannot be refunded. 

The Consultation

  • Participants will be sent an email 10 minutes prior to the scheduled time of the Consultation. 
  • The email will include a web conference link and instructions to connect to audio.
  • The Consultation will begin once the customer participant has arrived on the web conference, and will end at the scheduled end time. 
  • The participant will connect to and view the presenter's screen. 
  • If necessary, you may allow your instructor to view your screen (optional). This works well when you have a specific question that is best described visually.

What do you mean by a 'web conference'?


Web conferencing allows in-the-moment, visual meetings to be easily held on online—whether the other parties are across the street or on the other side of the world. It's interactive, cost-effective, simple to use, and decreases travel time and carbon footprints.

Typically, a web conference is hosted by 1 or more presenters who demonstrate product functionality, share videos, web pages and other multimedia content. Participants watch the presentation and are able to ask questions in real time.

There are 2 basic kinds of web conferencing: 

  • With web cam — presenter and participants are able to see each other live on video.
  • Without web cam — presenter and participants do not see each other on video. These are often called 'webinars' or 'webcasts.' This is the method we use to conduct our webinars. So you won't have to dress up or put on make-up that day... :-)
